What better way to kick-start last weekend’s Bank Holiday proceedings than with an devilishly good brunch and natter with the girls? A not-too-early, not-too-late start to Saturday that allows for copious gossip, food and time for activities. My very favorite.
On this particular Saturday, Sarah and Hannah accompanied me to Granger & Co. at long last after hearing much ado about nothing it scattered everywhere.

I must admit, we were very pleasantly surprised to be seated almost immediately in a quiet corner - Granger & Co., like so many brunch establishments, doesn’t take reservations at weekends which often leaves me hopeful that the uncertainty of queuing reaps the best rewards.
I chose the sweet corn fritters with roast tomato, spinach and bacon, which was a literal dream after being housebound for a week. The fritters were crisp, sweet, just salty enough and packed full of flavours, complimented perfectly by bacon and grilled tomatoes.

Hannah and Sarah, my willing brunch dates, chose the courgette fritters and scrambled eggs on sourdough toast respectively and can confirm they were excellent. The courgette fritters complimented by flavours including siyez and halloumi.

Just look at those scrambled eggs, practically a work of art.
We chattered for a handful of hours as us girls only can about everything from holidays to how-on-earth-that-pepper-mill-works to Milo to camera goalz to plans for the summer, Game of Thrones and so much more. You know, girl gang secrets and swapping a hundred stories per minute.
Alongside the extensive breakfast menu, there’s a plentiful sweet treats offering of which we picked up a yummy chocolate chip cookie and a fruit scone (SO good, I’d definitely recommend).

Oh! And one final shoutout and recommendation must be given to the Bill's Raw smoothie, a delicious blend of housemade almond milk, lsa, raw cacao, banana and honey; I could’ve easily slurped up five of them!
All in all, a new but happily firm favorite on my roster of breakfast destinations.
