With each new school year, it was a chance to reinvent yourself. Once upon a time I was a side-pony sassy pants, a tomboy sporting Air Jordans, a grunge girl in plaid and Doc Martens, an Abercrombie surfer wannabe, and so on and so forth.
As a child I didn't have a sizable budget for new clothes, but I did live for back to school shopping. I'm sure I drove my mother completely insane as I eagerly anticipated our shopping trips. Not much has changed in my thirty years. I still get excited about planning my first day of school outfit, and I spent all week looking forward to my Rosh Hashanah back- to- school shopping excursion (Happy New Year!).
What I noticed both in my literal and virtual shopping bags was an abundance of neutrals as well as shoes with pointed toes and ankle straps. Cream, gray, black, and white were all in attendance. This fall I'm planning on playing with textures like studs, leather, and flannel, rather than colors. Although I'm sad to see such a great summer go, I'm ready to embrace my three favorite f words- fall fashion and football!
