Today I’m reviewing the Totally Kissable lipstick collection by Avon. I have it in the shade Deep Orchid. It’s a deep plum hue with a matte finish.

out of my comfort zone

Wow. Deep (really deep) Plum, eh. Typically I stay in my comfort zone when it comes to choosing lipstick shades. You know the pinks and nudes (and sometime reds). The usual suspects.

a little “Whoopi”

But I decided to get a little “Whoopi Goldberg” in my life. So I zoomed in on this Deep Orchid by Avon. I only paid $3.95 for the lipstick. I also grabbed a lipstick liner from Avon (also in the $3 range) in the shade Deep Plum.

smooth like butta

Totally Kissable in Deep Orchid goes on surprisingly smooth. I was really expecting to “muscle it on.” Sometimes lipsticks and liners on the cheaper side tend to be dry. Then it ends up tugging on your lips as you apply. This wasn’t the case at all with Avon Totally Kissable. I was very impressed with that. The lipstick applied like butter.

stain control

It delivers on pigmentation. The deep orchid hue is very intense and only one layer of lipstick is really needed. But…

It will stain.

The lipstick does stain your lips. So before applying you should do the necessary prepping for matte lipstick application: exfoliate your lips, apply a lip primer or a thin of foundation, line your lips with a coordinating pencil.

The verdict.

I would definitely recommend the Totally Kissable lipstick line from Avon. The quality and formula of the lipsticks are pretty good and the price is even better. You can experiment with tons of shades without capping out on your budget.

I am not an Avon representative but by Mom is. I will place her link here. Please support her online store if you decide to purchase any Avon products and you don’t have a dedicated rep. I also paid for the Deep Orchid lipstick with my own money.
