Earning $27.6 million during Thursday night 7:00 p.m. showings, Age of Ultron ran laps around 2012’s The Avengers, which only made $18.7 million on late night previews. The $27.6 million places Ultron’s preview night as the sixth highest-grossing in the U.S., with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow: Part 2 leading the list at $43.5 million.
