Ubisoft has officially announced the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, upcoming sequel to its’ most successful video game series. This time the development team plans to take gamers on a journey with pirates along with a new hero and setting.

Story in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag takes us back to 18th century and it evolves around a young pirate captain named Edward Kenway who gets involved in Assassins and Templars war. This man will be ruling waters of the West Indies in his mighty ship, who also get involved in “extracurricular activities”. Edward is said to be the grandfather of Connor from Assassin’s Creed 3.

“With the new hero and new setting we are creating the boldest and most unique Assassin’s Creed game yet, while still respecting the pillars of the franchise that have made it such a fan favorite,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft. “Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag is based on a true, harsh and exciting part of a legendary era and will thrill longtime fans and newcomers alike.”

Assassin’s Creed 4 will feature a massive open-world with 50 navigable locations and it will also bring life to most infamous pirates in history including Blackbeard and Charles Vane. Ubisoft claims that the multiplayer game mode in this game will be much more “varied and ruthless” than ever.

Apparently this game has been in the development for about two years and Ubisoft is still making adjustment to the game. More details will arrive soon before it gets released for Xbox 360, Wii U, PC and PlayStation 3 on October 29, 2013.  Company also promises to release the game for “other next generation consoles” including Sony’s PlayStation 4 as well.
