What is Artisan Gilt?

ArtisanGilt is an online store which provides consumers with novel, authentic and affordable handmade lifestyle products sourced from the finest of Indian artisans. Our merchandisers work round the clock, travelling the expanse of India to discover skilled artisans and their art forms.

What I like on Artisan Gilt?

Artisan Gilt - Website for Indian Wear and Indian Jewellery (Website Review) - An array of Indian Earrings like jhumkas, drop earrings, chandelier earrings, chandbalis, polki earrings etc. ( I first introduced Artisan Gilt on SSU because of the same reason here)

- A collection of necklace set. - A big collection of sarees and items for home and living.
- Affordable price tag on most of the products.

What I don't like?

- That they do not keep salwar-kameez, footwears like jootis, mojris etc. Not that a website selling Indian wears need to sell possibly everything that comes under Indian Ethnic Wears. But... read ahead!

- Some products seem to have bad finish or bad image.

As A Website Artisan Gilt has Got These Factors Right ...

- Landing page loads quickly. (I still have to work on mine - uhoh!)
- Best features and discounts appear on first of half of the page. Good for us (buyers).
- Menu on left (or top), website information at the bottom (like social subscription, email sign up options etc. Buyers are not distracted by these information and they can always scroll down to check out more about the websites after they are done buying a product.
- A section to show buyers that they have coupon partners like Couponation ( I first introduced couponation here!), Coupon Duniya, etc.

As A Website Artisan gilt can improve on these areas...

- Change the background colour from dark grey to white or something neutral - beige, off-white, light-grey, pastel-yellow etc. It will make each item pop and mark a good impression on buyers.
- Images could be better because some products look badly manufactured (is this the reason why the prices is less?) or badly photographed (they might not be picked by buyers at all!)
- Buyers tend to clicks on hyperlinks, words, tabs if they fit their needs.  For instance, there is tab called "Wedding Season Sale" that includes all discounts but I did not click on it right away because it read "wedding" and I am not doing a wedding season shopping at the moment. We can call it "Discount Coupons" or "Discounts and Offers". Let that page pop-up when somebody clicks on an item to see a better image, details or buy. A great help for buyers!
