ABSOLUT SEARCHES FOR THE NEXT ‘BILLION DOLLAR NOSE’

Do you have the sensory mastery needed to become the next ‘Billion Dollar Nose’? The coolest job in the world is becoming available for the first time in decades, as Absolut is searching for the brand’s next Sensory Expert who will be responsible for exploring all the ways spirits are sensed and experienced.

After more than four decades in the industry Per Hermansson, Absolut’s Master Sensory Designer is about to retire. But before he does, he’s preparing to pass the baton to an entrepreneurial, passionate, disruptive thinker who will join the Absolut family.

Whether you’re using your tasting skills to develop a brand new global bestseller or spellbinding visitors with masterclasses about spirits and their different characteristic tastes and scents, you’ll travel the world to keep up to date with all of the latest trends in the world of food and drink.

Per Hermansson said “This is one of the most complex jobs in the business – you need to be equal parts innovator, chemist, teacher, creator and ambassador. This person not only needs to have the technical skills needed for the job, but a passion for creativity to keep Absolut on the forefront innovation.”

The Sensory Expert will be a tastemaker and trend spotter in everything related to flavor and smell, and applicants need to be at one with their nose. Smell is directly connected to the limbic system – our center for wants, desires, and emotions. The successful candidate will need to be able to break through the noise and really pay attention to those unconscious bodily sensations.

As well as traveling around the globe, you will spend time in the picturesque Swedish town of Ahus where the Absolut story begins. We call this One Source. One wheat, one source of water, one location and one reason why any bottle of Absolut Vodka, anywhere in the world, has the same distinctive character and taste.

Every ingredient that makes it into each bottle comes from the tiny village in southern Sweden. From the hard winter wheat grown in the rich nearby fields, to the pristine water from a local deep well, and the continuous production in the distillery; everything, including the glass bottle itself, comes from Ahus.

Prospective candidates can put their sensory knowledge to the test see if they can make it as the next ‘Billion Dollar Nose’. Take part in the quiz:www.absolut.com/billiondollarnose
