Applique Onesie

By Curdsnwhey
I needed to make a quick, cute and easy baby gift for a relative, so I decided to do a couple of appliqued onesies.  I love making these because the possibilities are endless and anything looks cute on them.  I decided to do the classic tie because Easter is coming up and it's perfect for a little newbie.  I also did a cute little elephant.  The great thing about these is even if you can't sew you can still make some!!!  Let me show you how...

Items Needed:
-Onesies or Shirt
-Fabric
-Double Fusible Webbing. (I use Steam a Seam.  If you are going to finish with stitching you want the LITE if not you want the HEAVY.)
-Thread
-Iron
First you start by tracing your design on the paper side of the webbing.
Applique OnesieNext cut around your design.  *NOT ON THE LINE YOU JUST TRACED!
Applique OnesieNow you are going to iron your design onto your fabric.  If your webbing has paper on both sides take the paper off the side that isn't traced and place it on the BACK side of the fabric.  Make sure to iron on the paper side or you will have a HUGE mess on your iron.
Applique OnesieNow you are going to cut your design out ON the line.  Next peel the paper off the webbing that should be stuck to the fabric and place your design onto the onesie or shirt.  Now iron the applique on making sure it is not going to come off.
Applique OnesieIf you aren't stitching you are done.  If you are, do a stitch around the outer edge using an 1/8 inch seam allowance.  Now put it on your little one.
Applique OnesieOr make a couple and give them as a gift!
