The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2012 turned out to be a spectacular event filled with dazzle, glitter and shine. It saw appearances from its most famous angles Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Adriana Lima alongside a handful of newcomers. The models strutted their stuff in six separate sections themed as “Circus,” “Dangerous Liaisons,” “Calendar Girls,” “Pink Is Us,” “Silver Screen Angels,” and “Angels in Bloom”.
Re-designed every year, for the 2012 show the Fantasy Bra was covered in intricate flowers made out of a massive 5,200 precious and semi-precious stones. The bra designed by Long Islander’s London Jewelers, featured a 20 carat white diamond centrepiece. The cost of this bra was estimated to be a staggering $ 2.5 million. The bra also included other precious stones like amethysts, sapphires, rubies, and yellow, pink and white diamonds.
The honour of donning the famed fashion show’s Fantasy Bra was given to the Brazilian beauty Alessandra Ambrosio. When told she would be wearing the bra, which features a 20 carat white diamond centerpiece, the model says she was a bit taken aback.’I wanted to scream,’ the Brazilian beauty said. ‘But I won’t lie, I was really worried.’
She didn’t have to go far to find answers to her queries about how to wear the multi-million dollar creation, as she was seen alongside Australian model Miranda Kerr who wore the Fantasy Bra last year. The two Angels have more than just the expensive bra in common, the pair are also mums – Alessandra gave birth six months ago and Miranda’s son Flynn is almost two.
The front row was packed with celebrities. Vanessa Hudgens, Alexa Chung, and Lily’s husband, Caleb, were on hand to cheer for their friends and witness the spectacle, as well as the performances. In addition to the Angels, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and Bruno Mars took the stage. Justin performed two songs with a spirited group of backup dancers. It was Rihanna, though, who may have stolen the show.The artist burst onto the runway to sing her new song, Diamonds, and a few other hits. She closed out the final section, and it was hard to keep one’s eyes off of her long enough to see the Angels take a final turn.
