Andy Mineo: How He & Lecrae Saved A Transgender Person From Jumping Off A Bridge [VIDEO]

Andy Mineo shared on his Facebook page this week that he and fellow hip-hop artist Lecrae saved a transgender person from jumping off a bridge.  In a video post plugging the book “Single Gay Christian, ” he shares the story of the artists encounter with the  suicidal transgender person and says,”Faith should compel us to listen & love the marginalized.”

Andy Mineo shared that he and Lecare  were crossing the bridge from Manhattan to the Bronx when they saw a transgender woman trying to jump.

“She starts to climb over the guardrail to jump,” Mineo explained in the video.

“Lecrae reaches his long seven-foot arms and grabs her and says ‘no,’ and pulls her back and I start grabbing her,” Mineo says.

Then Mineo says as they are trying to stop her, the woman starts to scream out.

“As we start wrestling this woman off of the bridge, we start hearing her scream out, ‘I just want to go home. I just want to be with Jesus. I don’t want to live anymore,” he says.

The hip-hop artist eventually pulls the woman over and call the police, all the while encouraging her that God loves her.
