Google recently revealed the name of the next Android OS--the Android 4.4, and it's surprisingly delicious, and possibly calorie-free! Since Android likes to be named after sweet and sinfully delightful desserts (Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean) it's just righteous to name the next version after a much loved chocolate concoction. So why did Nestle and Google partner up for this next version? What's the real reason, apart from trying to generate as much buzz as they can? According to Marc Vanlerberghe, Director of Android Marketing, "We couldn't imagine a better name for our Android K release than the tasty chocolate that's been a favorite among the team since the early days of Android." And they are even thinking of releasing limited edition Android KitKat bars!

This may be a branding partnership made in confectioner's heaven. Nestle's taking advantage of digital technology to become closer to its consumers, understand their needs and come up with better products to suit the target market's needs.

Candy lovers and tech geeks rejoice: More than 50 million specially branded KitKat bars will soon be available in 19 countries including Australia, Brazil, Dubai, Germany, India, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Soon, everyone will be saying stuff like, "Have a break. Have an Android KitKat."

Heck, the KitKat homepage is now even a parody of an Android device announcement page!   So the question remains... What do you think of Android's move?
