An Annual Event for a Wonderful Cause

Posted on the 03 May 2013 by Lindsay King @suzyblacks

This weekend is one of my favorites of the year.  Not only will I get to be outside enjoying the gorgeous weather, on a golf course, with good times… but a group of close knit friends are getting together to celebrate the life of someone taken from the world far too soon.  James Way Edmonds was a very kind friend, brother, son and person.  He is missed every single day by many, and his loved ones gather for a Golf Tournament in his name each year.  The James Way Classic is an incredible opportunity for people to show their support and to help raise money for The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

The AFSP is an organization working to understand and prevent suicide through research, education and advocacy. Suicide is a very serious issue that has been on the rise.  It is the tenth leading cause for death among Americans- and we all aim to help find a way to bring that number down.  For all the people who loved Jim, participating in the events that raise money for the AFSP is important; not just to share memories and see old friends, but to help make a difference.

So this weekend, this tournament, and this toast is for you, Jim! We miss you.
