An Alphabet of Onomatopoeias

By Expectlabs @ExpectLabs

imageOnomatopoeias are words that sound like the objects they describe or the sounds those objects make. The word comes from the Greek word onoma meaning “name,” and poiein, translated to ”I make.”

In the illustration above, artist Tom Gauld provides an alphabet full of these expressive words, perfect for when you need just the right onomatopoeia at your disposable.
