Amit Shah Holds Second Meeting in 12 Hours – All Party Meeting

Union House Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday chaired a top-level meeting with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and leaders of political parties to discuss the ongoing circumstance of violence and discontent in Delhi over the citizenship law.

After the conference, Kejriwal said:

“Everyone wants that the violence be stopped. The Home Minister had actually called a meeting today, it was a positive one. It was decided that all the political celebrations will guarantee that peace returns to our city.”

“Authorities is doing their bit and Amit Shah has actually ensured that whatever force is needed, will be provided,” “he included.

In wake of the violence in the northeastern part of Delhi, Shah skipped the welcome ceremony of US President Donald Trump, who is on a two-day see to India.

Besides Shah, Kejriwal and LG, the meeting was attended by Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, Congress leader Subhash Chopra, BJP leaders Manoj Tiwari and Rambir Singh Bidhuri and others.

The meeting, 2nd in the last 12 hours called by Shah, comes in wake of Monday’s violence in Northeast Delhi where seven individuals, including a head constable, were eliminated and over 100 individuals were injured.

The Home Minister assembled an immediate evaluation meeting late on Monday night after violence rocked Northeast Delhi.

On the other hand, Kejriwal today said that he is “”really anxious” “about the dominating scenario in certain parts of Delhi and called an urgent conference of all party MLAs of the violence-hit locations.

Following the media, Kejriwal urged individuals to maintain peace and law and order situation.

On Tuesday, fresh rounds of stone pelting were reported in Northeast Delhi’s Maujpur and Barahampuri locations, where Area 144 was put in place on Monday. The sporadic occurrences of violence has forced the authorities to announce closure of schools and colleges in violence-hit locations today.
