Gould’s Series Concludes in Love and MarriageGregarious Rose Lehman, who’s always the life of the Amish youth singings, is determined to marry the bishop’s son, Reuben Byler–until the handsome Army buddy of her future brother-in-law shows up in Lancaster County. In comparison to Trevor, Reuben seems downright boring. Trevor shares Rose’s sense of fun and adventure, and her easygoing disposition. When her sister Lila’s buggy is rear-ended and Lila is horribly injured, Rose finds herself with more freedom than she’s ever experienced. Everyone is so concerned about Lila that no one realizes Rose is sneaking out with Trevor. Except for Reuben. But in his usual passive way, he doesn’t confront her, nor does he address the situation with her Dat or anyone else in the district. Rose appreciates Reuben’s discretion, but she also resents it. Part of her relishes the freedom she’s found with Trevor, but the other part of her wishes Reuben would

Amish Weddings by Leslie Gould is the third and final book in Neighbors of Lancaster County series. I did not read the first book in the series, Amish Promise, but I did have the opportunity to learn the history and the chaotic situations of the various characters when I read the second book in this series, Amish Sweethearts.  This story continues with the Amish family Lehman and the English family Beck who are neighbors and friends for a very long time. This story continues from the other two books.

There are several characters in this story. It was almost like being friends with all the wonderful characters on Juneberry Lane and wanting the best for them.  The story takes you on a journey of Lila and Zane, Rose and Reuben, and Beth and Tim’s lives.  On their journey they will deal with big problems, big families, love, romance, forgiveness, drugs and alcohol, struggles health problems, second chances, twists and turns that brings them closer.

In this story, Rose wants fun in her life and ends up making bad choices. She then has to deal with the consequences of her choices, and readers definitely feel her pain. Will Rueben forgive her and marry her?   Lisa and Zane have planned their wedding, but then Lisa is involved in a buggy accident and is in serious condition.  Will she be able to give Zane the children they both want?  Tim is in love with Beth who is divorced, the Amish community considers her still married as her husband is still alive.  He is told not to see her.  What are their chances for romance?

I enjoyed this warm story and could not wait to find out what was happening on the next page.  This is a great ending of the series and the author, Leslie Gould was able to tie up all the loose endings very nicely.  I look forward to reading more of Ms. Gould’s books in the future.

Amish Weddings by Leslie Gould Leslie Gould is the best-selling and award-winning author of twenty-three novels. She loves traveling, research, Shakespeare’s plays, and church history. She and her husband live in Portland, Oregon and are the parents of four children.  You can find her on her official website HERE.

In her own words: “Once I finally started writing fiction, it was another ten years until I sold my first novel. By that time I’d been married for nearly 20 years and had four children of my own to read to.  In the decade and a half since my first contract I’ve written twenty-two novels, from Beyond the Blue, a story about international adoption set in Vietnam, to Courting Cate, a retelling of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, set in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. No matter what I write, I aim to reveal truths about God’s love, beauty, and redemptive work in our lives. My goal is to connect more deeply to God, family, long-time friends, and new friends through my writing. My hope is that my stories encourage readers to deepen their own connections too.”
