Alston Bar & Beef, Central Railway Station, Glasgow

Lunch in the depths of Central Station

It was lunch time again for myself and the Colonel. After hearing the buzz about Alston he wanted to try out their set menu to see if it buffed up as well as his buttons!

We picked the rump burger and the steak sandwich as well as a couple of soft drinks. We were asked how we would like our burgers and steak cooked, excellent!

Col. Mustard was most impressed. The taste and texture of the bun, the pinkness of the meat and the tang of the sauce. They all added up to a good burger.

Lovely pink steak, strong and vinegary tasting mustard and a soft roll. Stark wasn’t fatty or Chewy within an inch of its life.

We both enjoyed our lunch and liked the detail that even soft drinks were served in crystal glasses – oh, check us!

At £10.95 it is a bit steep for a regular lunch, but it is filling if you are working late and not getting dinner or are looking for a pay day treat.
