This good-natured Highland Park High School graduate moved to Los Angeles after winning a campus wide comedy competition at LSU. From the minute he took the stage in front of over 1,000 people and was named LSU's funniest man, he knew Hollywood was the place he needed to be.
Alex has already appeared in a slew of reality TV shows including ABC's The Glass House in 2012 (he lasted 2 episodes), CMT's Sweet Home Alabama and Worst Cooks in America on the Food Network in 2013.
Alex is once again looking for stardom in Bravo's new series titled Online Dating Rituals of the American Male premiering this Sunday, March 9 at 9pm. In this new docu-series, Bravo will "unmask the world of the booming, online dating culture from the male perspective. Each week, the show follows two men as they hunt for their ideal partner (or fling!). Viewers will get an inside look at the male psyche from the beginning stages of trolling and communicating online to landing a date with a potential match. The series features a variety of men from the typical “romantic” searching for his one true love to the guy whose goal is strictly getting lucky. From earnest romance to cringe-worthy moments, viewers will get a taste of the trials and tribulations that come along with dating in the digital age."
I took this Lethario to task to see where his head was really at:

OSC: I know you are from Park Cities and graduated from Highland Park High School. What year was that? Were you a stud in high school or a dork?
AS99: I graduated from HPHS in 2005, where I was captain of the football team and Student Council Vice President. High school is where I got the nick name "Prime Time 99 Alex Stein" because my football number was 99. Yes, I was pretty studly in high school, I defnitely slept with a few cheerleaders but my main claim to fame was sleeping with the entire womens softball team for Rockwall ISD.
OSC: Where did you go to college? What was your major?
AS99: I graduated in 2010 from LSU in Baton Rouge where I studied Vodka and Cajun Food. I got a General Studies degree like a pimp.
OSC: When did you decide you wanted to be famous and that TV was going to be your vehicle for stardom?
AS99: I grew up always watching and wanting to be on TV. Reality TV really blew up during my childhood. I remember always watching the Real World and Road Rules on MTV, those were my favorite shows growing up, so I guess you could say I was groomed to be on Reality TV from birth. Also its fun to entertain people.
OSC: You've been on a LOT of reality TV shows. Are you one of those people who wants to be famous for doing nothing or do you think you have actual talent?
AS99: I want to be famous for my poetry and smoked brisket recipe, that is all.
OSC: Who are your role models?
AS99: I have 2 role models in life: my dad (Rhett Stein) and Michael Irvin because of there flash and skill and because they have both showed great strength during hard times.
Bravo asks, "Is there anyone Alex Stein won't date?"
OSC: You currently work on Cheaters. What is your role on that show?
AS99: All I can say about Cheaters is that I do work on the production side of the show.
OSC: What has being behind the camera on Cheaters taught you, that you use when you are in front of it for other projects?
AS99: I've worked in reality TV since my sophomore year at LSU, I've forgotten more about reality TV than you will ever probably know about it.
OSC: Describe the premise of your new show on Bravo to me?
AS99: The show follows the male's perspective of online dating in Los Angeles. It is going to show you the trials and tribulations of my experience meeting women in LA. The show is shot documentary style so you really get an in-depth look at what a male's perspective is, and with that other woman can see what mistakes women and men both make online dating.
OSC: Does anyone come out of this show with a girlfriend or is it like The Bachelor and in 2 months you'll all be at the Playboy Mansion motor-boating Playmates?
AS99: Cynthia, you're gonna have to wait and see, I can't ruin the surprise. I can say that you will definitely be taking part in an emotional relationship roller coaster by watching the show. The love you make is equal to the love you take, is a good analogy of the show.
OSC: When was the last time you had a girl-friend and how long did that relationship last?
AS99: You'll learn all this by watching the show this Sunday night at 9pm on Bravo.
OSC: Where do you want to see this show take you?
AS99: I hope that one day I can throw the first pitch at a Texas Rangers baseball game. Anything else I could really care less about.
I have to admit, I am not holding out much hope that Alex finds true love on this show. After all, on their website Bravo asks, "Is there anyone Alex WON'T date? If serial online daters exist, this guy is definitely one of them." But if nothing else, it is keeping him in the hot glare of the spotlight for another few minutes... And that's where he just loves to be.
Online Dating Rituals of the American Male will debut Sunday, March 9 at 9 p.m. CST.
