Back in March, rumors regarding a cheaper iPhone have circulated, indicating one with a plastic case and a 4" non-retina display that might arrive in Q2 this year. It has also been predicted that the low-cost iPhone will be available in 5 colors.
And now, a Taiwanese phone manufacturer has announced a budget iPhone, called the Basic Bear Smartphone, is not only housed in plastic material, but also appears to be in a shape similar to Apple's original iPod.
Chris Chang, Editor-in-chief of M.I.C. Gadget blog, also declared that the plastic chassis feels sturdier than the
Samsung Galaxy phones.
Now whilst it's pretty cool to own an actual iPhone that has a different-looking chassis and an interchangeable color background, the legitimacy of the rumor can still be called into question. The source of the info, Techdy, is a site that builds knock-off gadgets that can run on Android, after all.
The fact that you can have an iPhone in red, pink, purple or blue is very nice, though, so I'm still on the fence on this one.
