Adoring Adobe

By Nookandsea @KristinaMGulino

From the rolling seaside hills of Santa Barbara to the charming square of Old Town San Diego, adobe homes have been a historic and beautiful part of the State’s history. The first adobe style buildings were introduced by the Spanish and Mexican settlers using bricks made from a humble mixture of mud and straw. They were then shaped a by wooden mold and baked to perfection in the warm California sun. Of course, adobe architecture has come a long way since; and with mega stars like Will Smith making the style popular, there’s no telling how often these homes will pop up!

Take a second to daydream. It’ll do you some good.
