Action Alert- Debt Limit Deal Should Be Associated With Only Spending Cuts

Barack Obama, March 2006- "The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure.   It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit."
It is time to get over the fact that Obama beat Romney in the 2012 presidential election. Obama took advantage of a depressed Republican and the conservative base, with the use of his bully pulpit, to manage a fiscal cliff deal that raised taxes on 77 percent of Americans. The deal created $41 dollars in tax hikes for every $1 dollar of spending cuts. The fiscal cliff deal also adds $4 trillion in deficits over the next decade.
There was no balance.
Mitch McConnell is right, the tax conversation is over, done... finished.

"The tax issue is finished, over, completed," McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, said on ABC's "This Week."
"That's behind us. Now the question is what are we going to do about the biggest problem confronting our country and our future, and that's our spending addiction."

Next up is the debt ceiling battle and Republican supporters need to start now, make sure that any mention of debt ceiling, debt limit, debt ceiling increase, is associated with the words 'spending cuts." Refuse to acknowledge anything to do with taxes. Make sure when people Google the terms debt ceiling etc.... that Google brings up on talk of spending cuts to justify raising our borrowing limit.
At least an equal amount of spending cuts, dollar for dollar, cent for cent, for every dollar and cent Obama wants to increase our debt. That is balance and it is up to conservatives and their fiscally responsible supporters to see to it that the discussion is consistently pointing out that balance.
The Republican base can piss and moan all we want, but we have to accept our share of responsibility for getting the message out there. We need to counter the Obama media and Obama's bully pulpit where he can go on the air any time he likes to make his case.
We can blame our Republican lawmakers, as well we should when they do not stand up for true balance, for not being fiscally responsible, but we also have to help because for every story the media publishes of them making sound, logical fiscal points, Obama receives 10 or 20 stories spewing his class warfare nonsense.
We have the time, we have the Army of Davids, we have the capability... what we need is the focus and determination to make sure that we carry the message, that we make the associations and that we do not let up for a second, a minute or a day.
