Ninety years ago, Millie Sullivan’s great-grandmother was a guest at oil tycoon Howard Dawkins’ palatial estate on the shore of St. Simons Island, Georgia. Now, Millie plays a 1920s-era guest during tours of the same manor. But when her grandmother suggests that there is a lost diary containing the location of a hidden treasure on the estate, along with the true identity of Millie’s great-grandfather, Millie sets out to find the truth of her heritage–and the fortune that might be hers. When security guard Ben Thornton discovers her snooping in the estate’s private library, he threatens to have her fired. But her story seems almost too ludicrous to be fiction, and her offer to split the treasure is too tempting to pass up . . .

Get ready for a romantic escapade through dark halls and dusty corners that will have you holding your breath and sighing with delight as two charming characters get caught up in the adventure of uncovering the past and finding their way to an unexpected future.

A Sparkle of Silver (Georgia Coast Romance #1) by Liz Johnson

I was invited to join the Blog Tour Team for Revell Books, a division of Baker Publishing Group for today’s post about A Sparkle of Silver by Liz Johnson.  While I hadn’t heard of this author previously, she has a history of great books, so I see another author to add to my TBR list!

I picked this book up after a super long week at work. I will tell you that Friday night was an “all nighter”.  Not like the old days where I was out dancing the night away, but instead, I was turning page after page of A Sparkle of Silver until it was early morning Saturday and I had finished the book!

Millie Sullivan is doing her best to take care of the expenses of the nursing home where her grandmother resides, but the threat of eviction draws closer with no solution in sight.  One day her grandmother mentions there’s a treasure hidden at a wealthy oil tycoon’s former estate called The Chateau, which was turned into a popular tourist attraction on St. Simon’s Island Georgia.  Miller’s grandmother tells her that there’s a map in her great-grandmother’s diary that was left at The Chateau back in 1929, so Millie believes the treasure can solve all of her financial problems.

Millie gets a job as a hostess at The Chateau.  Ben Thornton is a security guard on duty when he catches Millie in an off limits area of the estate.  He’s going to turn her over to authorities so she makes a deal with him to give him half the treasure if he helps her find it.

Millie and Ben make the perfect team as they work together to find the missing family treasure and her great-grandmother’s diary may provide Millie with information to the identity of her great-grandfather as well as the location of a possible treasure.

In A Sparkle of Silver, Liz Johnson has written a wonderful story with great characters that combines a murder mystery, a secret treasure and even a romance, sprinkled with faith messages throughout! I enjoyed the story’s ending and the surprises that Ms. Johnson threw in along the way.
