To most Australians abroad, London is our second home. I loved London, and I’m sure to be returning next year on the way back from my journey through America. I agree with London on many things. 1) Tea – summer or winter, rain or shine, tea tea tea is always on the mind. 2) Hyde Park, Green Park, St James Park, Kensington Gardens in the city center so locals and tourists have a place to exercise or dwell in the greenery. 3) The currency in notes are so old and papery I feel as though I could just rip it, it reminds me of Monopoly money. 4) Everything in London reminds me of Monopoly. I have more reasons, but they’re slightly mundane, and they’re often the most loveable parts of it.
The Old Vic
London’s Old Vic Theatre is located in Southbank, near Waterloo station. Kevin Spacey is currently the artistic director there, and he’s held the position for 10 years now. Before he steps down as artistic director, he aims to raise £20m for the Old Vic to secure the theatre’s future financially. I saw Tennessee Williams’ Sweet Bird of Youth there, starring Kim Cattrall and Seth Numrich. It was fantastic, and Kim Cattrall will forever be a idol of mine.
