After a long day’s work, and feeling extremely hungry, I passed by an advertisement promoting a limited edition Foie Gras burger at Quick. Loving Foie Gras, my feet pushed me to the closest restaurant near the Saint Lazard train station.
A Season’s Special: Foie Gras Burger at Quick, France
I ordered the Foie Gras Burger Meal. Here, the cashier informed me that they don’t have a meal with this burger and that I should order fries and coke separately. She didn’t inform me that the burger is extremely small and that it comes as a plus to the original meal ordered. The Foie Gras Burger:
  • Proposed at less than three euros. Don’t be amazed, you’ll understand why when you see it
  • You need minimum four of this item to extenuate your hunger
  • The Foie Gras burger looks nothing like the picture: nothing at all…
  • The meat is much smaller than shown on the picture
  • The lettuce is not as green as shown and does not come in one single piece
  • The bread in smaller
  • The Foie Gras piece is half the size shown on the beautiful image
  • The presentation is disastrous. A picture explains it more than anything else. Quick has been know to offer nice looking round burger filled in a circular carton… Why is that one -supposed to be the high-end with its fine ingredients-  looks so cheap?
A comparison between the poster and the real thing
A Season’s Special: Foie Gras Burger at Quick, France
As for the taste: The Foie Gras burger is good:A thin square of meat covered with sliced lettuce, a Foie Gras piece and a chutney sauce giving to the mix a sweet flavor. No ketchup and  no mayonnaise like all other conventional burgers but a new idea of a fine preparation served in a fast food junk restaurant. The things I like at Quick compared to Mc. Donald’s the main competitor:
  • No salt added to the crispy delicious fries
  • The burgers come wrapped with a carton that maintains the ingredients inside the bun
What I hate about Quick: Their over use of Mayonnaise If you didn’t have the chance to taste yet, please do, but prepare yourself to see something completely different and let your taste buds feel it without your eyes condemning it.
