A Prayer For The Crown-Shy by Becky Chambers

By Pamelascott
"Tender and healing... I'm prescribing a pre-order to anyone who has ever felt lost. Stunning, kind, necessary." -Sarah Gailey on book 1: A Psalm for the Wild-Built A Prayer for the Crown-Shy is a story of kindness and love from one of the foremost practitioners of hopeful SF.

After touring the rural areas of Panga, Sibling Dex (a Tea Monk of some renown) and Mosscap (a robot sent on a quest to determine what humanity really needs) turn their attention to the villages and cities of the little moon they call home.

They hope to find the answers they seek, while making new friends, learning new concepts, and experiencing the entropic nature of the universe.

Becky Chambers' new series continues to ask: in a world where people have what they want, does having more even matter?

The thing about fucking off into the woods is that unless you are a very particular, very rare sort of person, it does not take long to understand why people left said woods in the first place. 1: THE HIGHWAY

I enjoyed Dex and Mosscap's first adventure so was looking forward to this. I loved this book a lot. The author is fast becoming one of my favourite Sci-Fi writers. This book is about love, hope and finding meaning in the small things. This is what makes it vastly different from other Sci-Fi which tends to be seeped in darkness and love. I didn't want to stop reading this. I hope there will be more from Dex and Mosscap.
