We had a potluck on Monday. Sofia hosted. It was fun! It was the first one in a long time. It was great to get Anna, Danielle, Sofia, Leslie, Rebecca, Shayne, Megan, Evan, and Holly- who was visiting- all in the same room.
There was lots of good food. Fresh vegetables…
Bread, cheese and fruit. (I was lame and brought store-bought hummus and pita chips.)
We drank wine…
We drank wine while sitting on the floor, chatting in a way that only a big group of girls does.
And we did what food bloggers do: took pictures of our food.
And our feet. I read once that every girl goes through a phase where she takes a lot of photos of feet. I certainly did, when I was 15 and a sophmore in high school. Did anyone else do that?
I left the party a bit on the early side, to get me home in time for a good night’s rest. It’s tough adjusting to a new schedule! It’s funny: even though I now get to sleep an hour later that I did when I was serving, I’m having a very hard time waking up in the morning.
I think I’ve mentioned this on the blog before, but ever since I was about 16 or so I’ve struggled with overwhelming fatigue. It usually hits me a couple times a day, the first a few minutes after breakfast. It’s as if my whole nervous system is shutting down and it’s everything I can do to keep my eyes open and my head up. I’ve seen a bunch of doctors and specialists about it, but so far nothing’s come up. One day, though, I hope we’ll get to the bottom of it.
One thing that has saved me a ton of time in the morning, however, is planning my outfits ahead! On Sunday, I went through my closet, finding tons of things I’d forgotten I even had. The dress code at my office is “business casual,” which I thought would be boring, but I’ve actually had fun putting things together! I made up seven outfits to get me through the week (and then some).
Belts are a great investment, and really pull an outfit together.
They can make a plain skirt and blouse look really polished, chic and interesting.
