A company called SteamBoy Machine Team took the stage at the last day of E3 2014 to unveil their new device – SteamBoy, a handheld gaming console running Steam OS, featuring a 5-inch 16:9 touchscreen, Quad-Core CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in memory. Surprisingly, this startup has no relation with Valve.

While the specs doesn’t meet the requirements to run latest games, the main idea behind SteamBoy is to offer gamers a way to access their Steam library, from anywhere they want.

It’s not the best time for portable gaming consoles. Devices like PS Vita and and NVIDIA’s Shield is still suffering in the market. However, with the new wake of Steam OS and the ability to sync games between PC and console, will make a great selling point for the SteamBoy.

Pricing and release dates for the SteamBoy hasn’t been announced yet.
