A No 7 MAKE UP SPECIAL

Hey There!

I hope your all enjoying the start to your three day weekend! My plan was to go shopping in Cardiff today, but I have postponed my ‘retail therapy’ trip until tomorrow and swapped it with a chilled, pyjama day instead, (I do love a pyjama day). Its been a while since I’ve been able to do this , so after this post I will be retiring to the sofa for the rest of the day.

I know I have been slacking with my posts recently, (Bad blogger) but this past month or so has been rather hectic and I just couldn’t get in to the ‘blogger’ frame of mind. So forgive me, as my next few posts will be me playing ‘catch up’ and talking about beauty topics and products which have been on my blogs agenda for the past couple of months now, (Talking about products I have brought in May in August and all sorts).

Today I will be reviewing two No 7 Make up products, both of which are designed to provide instant coverage and ‘B-E-A-U-TIFUL’ skin.

I will start with the No 7 TRIPLE PROTECTION Tinted Moisturiser retailing at £11.50.

If you have read some of my previous make up posts such as ‘Stay Flawless’ you will know that I am not that confident with base make ups, having never been a foundation user, (I feel like I am admitting a beauty sin here). I have played around with several products, (Mainly my mums – of which are far too dark for my skin colour) and personally I always felt a bit paranoid that my make up looked too ‘caked’ on, so never ventured out the house with it on, (You know those girls you see with the foundation lines, and the neck whiter than their face – that was me, an actual mud face). This has always steered me clear of foundation, (Along with my mum telling me I was to young to wear it, and my skin not needing it), but as I’ve got a bit older, and wiser, and watched many friends apply their make up, I have become more and more intrigued by these base products, and I have become more and more envious of the even coverage and ‘flawless’ look it gives them. So firstly when BB creams came out, (And I spotted one in my mums bathroom to test and try) I made the step and purchased one, but only for the purpose of evening wear, (As reviewed in the BeautyByKaris Archives: ‘Miracle Skin Perfector’).

I have been quite content over the past year with just using the BB cream on nights out! The colour was a shade darker (to match my fake tan) so I was able to resist using it in the day, (In fear of the mud face). However in recent months my curiosity of these base make up products and my love for that ‘perfected’ skin look, has lead me to the purchase of this No7 TRIPLE PROTECTION Tinted Moisturiser. Now I know most foundation wearers will think tinted moisturiser will do ‘nothing’ but for me it does A LOT, and I feel this is a step in the right direction, (In the make up world) prior to becoming a full time foundation wearer.

What I LOVE about this product, is that I can apply it like I would a day cream, (With no skill required) and its instantly on. Its like fuss free make up. It gives my skin a nice subtle colour and glow, and evens the skin tone, (It ticks all my boxes). To add to this it has a ‘triple protective power of SPF 15, 5* UVA technology and a powerful antioxidant complex’ and my regular readers will know, I am all about the ‘youth protecting’ ingredients.

It comes in three shades, fair, fair/medium and medium, (Mine being the in between). It is a ‘Hypo-allergenic’ product, (Which means it should suit even sensitive skin) and being a tinted ‘moisturiser’ it keeps the skin well hydrated all day with its Hyaluronic acid and Vitamins A and E, (Although you should still use a day cream – good skincare and all that).

Moving on to the second No 7 Product, Instant Radiance Concealer, retailling at £12.95.

First of all I would like to say that this concealer has lasted me absolutely agessss, (It will probably run out tomorrow now that I have said that). Every morning I use it I expect it to be the last, but no it keeps giving me what I want.

This product is a great ‘multi-tasker’ it is used to conceal those dark circles under the eyes, to cover spots  and blemishes and as it is a ‘light reflecting’ lotion it can also be used to highlight other areas of the face, (such as the brow bone).

SAM_0874

It is again a Hypo-allergenic product, (I can see this being a great trend in No 7s Make up range). It comes in three shades, numbered 1, 2 and 3, ( I suppose they are quite self explanatory) I would recommend trying them in store as mine is shade 3 and quite beige in colour, while the other two seemed either too pale or too pink.

Again the application is so easy, you press the pump at the bottom of the ‘pen’, apply under the eye with the brush and blend in with the fingers, (Pressing lightly from the inside to the outside of the eye to blend).

SAM_0872

The best thing about this concealer is how nice it feels under the eye, it is so light in its consistency that it doesn’t pull on the under eye during application, it doesn’t dehydrate the skin and it doesn’t form clumps of product either.

Here is a before and after picture with both No7 Products.

(No Make Up – and a miserable look on my face)

IMAG0060

(With just one application of the two No 7 Products – You can already see more colour and a glow to my skin)

IMAG0064

(The end result with a little more product and a few other make up applications such as mascara and the best invention ever, the eyebrow pencil)

WHAT’S YOUR BASE MAKE UP?

Lots of love,

KB xx
