A Lil Bit of Shakespeare

By Katieemay @katieemay1
Last Friday our English class went to London for the day to go see Macbeth at the Globe theater because it's one of the books/plays which we're studying.
A lil bit of Shakespeare
Now, you have to understand that our English class is prone to things going wrong and embarrassing/awkward thing happening to us. We don't know why but it always does but we always have a good laugh. We made it on the train to Euston and then the Tube (which I was absolutely terrified about. I get really claustrophobic and the thought of being underground freaks me out. But I did it!) to London Bridge and we decided to get some lunch at Pizza Express. We wanted to share pizza between eight of us and were trying to decide how many to get so our teacher asked how big a pizza was. Well, the waitress didn't really explain so we asked how many slices was in one pizza and she helpfully says "as many as you want cutting". Helpful, real helpful. Once we'd ordered and eaten our three pizzas we realised we wanted another so we asked the waitress and she brought us the pizza which had a random basil leaf on it. When we moved it there was a huge burnt bit under it! We couldn't stop laughing at their failed attempt to cover it. It gets better though; when it came to paying, we split the bill and were trying to figure it out. Basically, there was about £6.00 change due back. We give her the money and stay waiting for the change when she comes back with some food for the table behind us and she just says thank you. We burst out laughing...hysterical is probably fairly accurate. Eventually the change came, probaby because of our laughing. The irony was that the service we received was pretty bad too.
The performance was really good too. It had the deputy head (Pro Green :P) from Bad Education, someone from LOTR and another person from Casino Royal as well as Judi Dench's daughter. Whilst our seats weren't the best, the atmosphere and acting was superb and I can't wait to go and see other plays there, hopefully soon!
So that was my latest little trip. Comment below with things you've recently seen and your London experiences and awkward restaurant stories!  Katie May xoxofacebook | twitter | instagram | pinterest | bloglovin | google | tumblr
