A Letter to the Housework Fairy

By Yourfamilysurvivalcoach @shari_brewer

Dear Housework Fairy

I’m sorry.

No really, I’m very sorry. For whatever it is that has pissed you off and made you cranky at me.

I’m sorry that I’m raising a 15 year old who can’t sniff the difference between clean and dirty and who thinks that floors and drawers are interchangeable. Well, they do rhyme, I guess … but that really is a pathetic excuse.

I’m sorry that Little Miss 3 year old fails to heed my (oft repeated) instructions of restricting play-doh play to the table on the non-carpeted area. I’d also like to apologize on behalf of Barbie and her dozen or so half-dressed twins who are yet to appreciate that living in a toybox would be preferable to being sprawled, like nightclubbing floozies, out on the back patio for all to see.

Really, truly so very sorry that the cat thinks it’s fine to shed hair on the couch. Ooooops, I shall have a stern word with her.

I’d like to apologize for the inconsiderate way that we’ve been leaving the beds made, only pulled up in half effort, but even then looking scrappy.

Sorry too for not really giving enough of a crap about filing papers in the office. If you’ll only forgive me this one more time, it won’t happen again. Promise.

I’m sorry that the laundry basket is overflowing, that there are cobwebs on the ironing board and that clean clothes are in piles – kind of folded – and not in cupboards.

I’m sorry, ok.

I’m hoping you’ll accept this, the sincerest of apologies, and find it in that very good heart of yours to be my friend again. Soon. I miss you.

Looking forward to hearing from you promptly

lots of love

PS. If you did happen to hear me use your name in vain last week in conversation with one of the kids, I’m really sorry about that. Won’t happen again. Cross my heart x

So, how do you keep in the Housework Fairy’s good books??

Have an awesome Tuesday and if you’re a blogger, remember to link up with Jess at IBOT! It’s esstentially awesome – so is Jess, I’ve met her – and you can find it here -  Essentially Jess!
