A GUIDE TO PERFECT NAILS

Finally I am back in the ‘blogger’ zone, and I must admit I have MISSED it! This past month has been very hectic for me, amongst birthdays, festivals, and assignments I have also started a new job and relocated from the Welsh Valleys back to Hampshire, and back in with the Mother, (Home Sweet Home). I have felt a little lost without my blog, (As silly as that may sound), but I just love writing about things I love, (Who wouldn’t).

I have sooo many products and beauty must haves I need to share with you all, but today I will theme my post around the idea of perfect nails.

Recently I have had several compliments thrown at me about my nails, with a couple of my friends asking if they were Gels. Having bitten my nails when I was younger, and never really having much length to them, I was absolutely loving these comments. So I thought I would share some of my ‘ Tips to Perfect Nails’:

  1. Massage cuticle cream/hydrating oil in to the cuticles daily  (I recommend Jessica Nails Phenomen Oil £8.95.)
  2. ALWAYS carry a ‘Nail File’ with you wherever you go  (This helps prevent any biting or picking of the nail when you accidentally catch it, causing less harm to the nail).
  3. Buff the ridges out (A 4 sided buffer will smooth, polish and help remove ridges – this immediately makes any color look ten times better on the nail).
  4. Push back cuticles (and ONLY cut if needed – Most Manicure sets should come with appropriate tools).

Now for the Perfect Polish:

  1. Remember to ‘squeak’ the nails before you apply any polish, (This means wipe over with varnish remover and get rid of any residue on the nails).
  2. Use a treatment base coat – (I recommend Jessica Nails or Nails Inc.)
  3. When applying Nail Varnish, don’t become product happy, try and apply in 3 strokes, one up either side and one through the middle, (AVOID flooding the cuticles).
  4. Apply a  top coat to finish (The glossier the better I think).
  5. Always take off and reapply your nail varnish when it chips, (Nothing worse than chipped nail polish, although we can all admit we all try and get away with it).

Here is a more detailed post on ‘Nail Care‘ from the Beauty By Karis Archives.

To finish of this post I thought I would post my ‘NAIL COLOUR OF THE WEEK’, (Well in this case its two). It was my BIRTHDAY last Wednesday, and I was lucky enough to get a present, from two of my best mates, with two amazing PINK O.P.I Nail Varnishes in, (What more could a girl want) so obviously I immediately sat down and applied one starting with the ‘Bright Sparkly Pink’, (Sparkles being the best thing ever).

O.P.I I’M ALL EARS

Being very eager to try the other one, I actually took the polish off earlier than needed and quickly applied the second one, (Hence the two Nail Colours of The Week).

O.P.I IF YOU MOUST YOU MOUST

Lots of Love
