A 12.9in iPad Pro with Apple’s A8X Processor Coming Soon?

Posted on the 26 September 2014 by Anna Peterson

Rumor has it that Apple is planning to release a new, larger iPad in early 2015, called the iPad Pro. This tablet should arrive with a 12.9” screen and, according to some new info, Apple’s A8X processor.

The A8X processor will be an graphics-enhanced version of the A8 processor that can be found in the recently-released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Having in mind that the iPad Pro will probably arrive with a higher resolution, it’s only logical that Apple will include a more powerful chipset.

In the past, Apple put the modified versions of its A-chipsets into the iPad 3 (A5X) and the iPad 4 (A6X), both of which boasted faster CPU and graphics performance.

However, this new processor won’t be featured in the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3, both of which are said to arrive next month with the A8 chipsets. The iPad Air 2 might also have 2GB of RAM – twice that of any other iOS device to this date. These new tablets will also come with Touch ID and improved cameras.

As soon as we have more info about the iPad Pro 12.9”, we’ll let you guys know.
