5 Natural Skincare Items You Already Have in Your Pantry

You could spend hours browsing the drugstore shelves, thumbing through every product, checking prices and labels until you finally settle on something to try. Chances are that you’ll toss the item in your cabinet, never to look at it again. But you probably have skincare items already in your pantry. They are cheaper, help with several concerns, and are all-natural, allowing you to know exactly what is going on in your skin.

Coffee Grounds

Coffee grounds are a natural exfoliator. If you have the patience to do it, they can be used in place of expensive body scrubs and are just as effective. Apply them once a week using a circular motion on your face and neck.

Your skin will thank you if you try incorporating coffee grounds into your skincare routine! Use them on any scars from acne or blemishes to help reduce their appearance over time, but be careful not to apply too much pressure.

Avocado or Avocado Oil

Avocado is a great moisturizer, and avocado oil is even better. It’s believed to help with dry skin, stretch marks, and wrinkles. Avocado contains vitamin E, which is great for healing damaged skin and hair. Avocado oil can be used on its own or mixed with other ingredients, such as honey or aloe vera gel, to boost nourishment for your skin.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is a natural bleaching agent that can lighten dark spots and scars. It also contains vitamin C, which helps keep your skin looking healthy and youthful. Lemon juice is just one way that you can slow down the appearance of aging.

Use lemon juice to cleanse your skin by applying it to your face with a cotton ball or cloth. You can also mix a teaspoon of lemon juice into an ounce of water for an all-natural toner for your face at night.

Turmeric

Another skincare item you probably already have in your pantry is turmeric. Turmeric is a spice that has been used in natural skincare for a long time. Turmeric has been used to help clear up dark spots in the underarm area and skin conditions like acne and eczema. You can use turmeric as a face mask weekly to help keep your skin evenly toned.

Greek Yogurt

Yogurt is a natural skincare item that people often overlook. Any (or all) of the items on our list can be mixed with yogurt to create a sensational facemask. Using the yogurt fresh from the fridge gives the bonus of anti-inflammation.

You can create skincare products at home with the right items. Many of these skin-clearing, nourishing products are free from harmful chemicals and either easy to find or already in your own pantry.
