The temperature is officially dropping here in New York, and we're already praying for summer. On chilly days when a cuppa Rosey Lee just won't cut it, warm up with a toasty holiday cocktail! These seasonal beverages have a little something extra to sooth your holiday stress, warm your soul, and bring you some Christmas cheer.

Haute Mocha Chocolate

Heat cashew milk on medium heat on the stove. Whisk in Cadbury's Drinking Chocolate

until dissolved and slightly frothy. When it starts to simmer, pour into a mug and swirl in 1 shot of Kahlua. Garnish with cinnamon powder and cinnamon sticks.

Rekorderlig Cider , Sweden's premium hard cider.

Ingredients: Method:

Mix the rum, lemon and honey together. Add hot Rekorderlig and stir. Serve with a cinnamon stick and an orange wheel.

Spicy Cajeta Hot Chocolate

Mixologist Cassandra Rosen in behalf of Soltado Tequila. Made in Juanacatlán, a small town in the midlands of Jalisco, Mexico, Soltado Spicy Añejo Tequila is produced by seasoned agave growers and tequila makers, at one of only two farmer-owned, co-op distilleries in the country of Mexico.

Ingredients:
  • 7 oz almond milk
  • 2-3 tbs cajeta or dulce de leche
  • 1 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbs bittersweet chocolate
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1-1/2 oz. Soltado Spicy Añejo Tequila
  • Whipped cream, for garnish
Method:

In a saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the milk, cajeta, cocoa powder, chocolate, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until cajeta and chocolate are melted. Turn off the heat. Add Soltado Tequila, stir till frothy. Pour into a mug, top with whipped cream.

Grandaddy's Apple Pie Toddy

  • 1 oz Soltado Spicy Añejo Tequila
  • 1 oz aged rum
  • ½ oz maple syrup
  • 2 oz hot apple cider
  • 1 oz hot water
  • Apple slice garnish
Method:

Pre-heat the mug with hot water, discard. Build remaining ingredients in the mug, stirring in hot water at the end. Garnish with an apple slice.

Chai Hard With a Vengeance

Kanele Breakfast Club's Bar Manager, Scott Bufis, who developed this brunch cocktail to warm up and wake up guests during Chicago's frigid winter and named it after one of his favorite holiday movies. Kanela, which is Greek for cinnamon, has five Chicago locations in Andersonville, Lakeview, Old Town, Streeterville and Wicker Park.

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz espresso (a double shot) or substitute with 2 oz of strong coffee
  • 2 oz Bulleit Bourbon
  • 2 oz whole milk
  • 2 oz chai tea (any powdered version mixed w/ 2 oz of warm whole milk - follow chai tea brand's directions for powder amount)
Method:

Mix bourbon with espresso in a coffee mug. Steam milk and chai tea together with a steaming wand or in a saucepan on the stove. Pour chai tea mixture over the bourbon and espresso. Garnish with cinnamon!
