5 Fall Wardrobe Staples

5 Fall Wardrobe Staples
Last night, for the first time in months, I had to pull out an extra blanket to cover my summer quilt. I guess it's time for me to accept that summer is over and embrace the glories of fall! To get in the mood, I thought I'd share my 5 Fall Wardrobe Staples  with you all!
5 Fall Wardrobe Staples
1. Rails Plaid Button Downs
LA label, Rails, has seriously blown up this past summer. Pick up any recent issue of US Weekly or People and you'll see a celebrity or three in their plaid button downs! I didn't really understand the cult following until I tried one on for myself (they're available in Boston at Crush, natch!) Rails shirts are fitted just enough to feel polished; They're relaxed without being baggy and impossibly soft. Made from 100% rayon, they actually feel like a Supima cotton/silk blend.
2. Mixed Material Riding Boots
Rockport, one of my favorite local brands, recently sent me their Total Motion 75mm 2 Strap Tall Boots so I could experience their new comfort technology. Total Motion incorporates Adidas' Adiprene that absorbs shock in the heel, as well as thermoplastic polyurethane plate that ensures foot stability. High tech, right? Even with almost three inch heels, I can run around in them all day and still be comfortable. More importantly, they look great! The tweed panels allow the boots to stretch but also looks sophisticated while the buckles and zippers give a bit of edge. I have a feeling they will be my go-to boots once fall really gets going.
3. Wide Brimmed Hat
I don't know about you but sometimes I get tired of a ponytail on a bad hair day. A wide brimmed hat is a chic alternative plus it helps keep you warm when the breeze starts bustling! I love the gold plated wire detail on this navy Janessa Leone.
4. Leather Detail Leggings
My favorite piece this fall? BCBG's Shelby Pant.
Okay, by now it's pretty clear that leather leggings (real or faux) are a wardrobe staple no matter the season. I'm a big fan of ponte styles with leather panels right now.  They are just as versatile as your everyday jeans but they feel far more sophisticated for night.
5. Leather Bucket Bags
I know bucket style bags have been "in" for a while now since Alexander Wang debuted his "Diego" style a few years ago but until recently I just wasn't feeling it. They didn't seem practical to me. During Back Bay Night Out a few weeks back, I was able to visit Saturday (the new little sister line to Kate Spade) at Copley and tested out her Grommet Bucket Bag. It was easily able to hold all my essentials and was comfortable to carry on my shoulder. It's also closer to my price range at $225. (Right now it's only $180 with 20% off promo code BAGME until 9/28 at 11:59pm)
