Using harsh chemicals in the home can pose a danger to your family and especially young children. Many green living advocates have made a push to toss out all of those harsh chemical cleaners that irritate the skin and cause nausea. Homemade bathroom cleaners are a secret that’s starting to get out. So what can you do to promote a eco-friendly lifestyle?

Standing over a dirty tub with your gloves on and your all purpose spray bottle may make you feel like you’re in the midst of a Wild-West Showdown. Restoring a brilliant shine in your bathroom is worth celebrating, but making the cleaner yourself is truly something to be proud of. With a few quick tricks, no stain, dirt, or grime will ever stand in your way again.

Homemade Green Bathroom Products

Some of the basic ingredients that can move dirt and build up are baking soda, white vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and borax. Using essential oils like lavender oil or lemongrass will give you bathroom a fresh natural scent that can’t be replicated by synthetic products sold in stores. Best of all, these ingredients are harmless and easy to get your hands on. Get rid of that cabinet full of harmful toxins and replace them with a few of your own homemade bathroom cleaners.

Toilet Fizzies act like traditional toilet cleaners that you plop in your toilet tank. A bit of forewarning, you shouldn’t use these cleaners in the tank. These chemicals can eat away at your toilet plunger and cause your toilet to leak. Instead, choose toilet bowl cleaner that mounts inside your toilet bowl OR you can make homemade Toilet Fizzies yourself! You’ll need to grab a few items out of the kitchen to make this concoction. Baking soda, citric acid, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and essential oil. Read the full directions at SavvySugar.com!
