In a new survey carried out by Maplin, almost half of those questioned said that they were more comfortable paying somebody else to do work on their house rather than attempting it themselves.
The same study revealed that men were almost twice as likely to injure themselves whilst doing a DIY project, and over half of women did not feel confident using power tools, compared to just 10% of men.
