Skincare

How many times do you wash your face daily?

Twice. Once with ice cold water as soon as I get out of bed (my technique to stop me getting back in) and once before bed with luke warm water.

What type of skin do you have?

Combination but mainly oily.

What is your current facial wash?

I’m using the Garnier exfo-brush  at the moment. It seems to be doing a pretty good job as a facial wash but not so much as a spot fighter – I’ve been breaking out a lot. – I’m looking for something new while I use this up.

Do you exfoliate?

If I didn’t, my eczema would make my face look flaky. I exfoliate every two days with a homemade sugar facial scrub and daily with the (soft) exf0-brush that is attached to the Garnier face wash.

What brand do you use?

-

Which moisturiser do you use?

I have so many moisturisers and none of them are even for my face! I’m using diprobase (doctors orders) just now while I find a good moisturiser that’s pure and hydrating.

Do you have freckles?

Nope.

Do you sue eye cream?

I should, but I don’t. I’ve been debating whether to try out the Soap & Glory Make Yourself Youthful eye cream but I never seem to put it in my basket when I go to Boots. I just read the box and move on……

Did/do you have acne prone skin?

Yes! And it’s the bane of my life lol. I dislike adolescence :(

Did/do you use Proactiv?

Nope. I see it advertised at like 3am when TV channels have nothing to air and as much as Katy Perry and Avril Lavigne say that they love it, I still don’t want to buy it.

Make-Up

Which foundation do you use?

Well, I’ve been using Mac Matchmaster but it smells like paint and breaks me out. I attempted AJ Crimson’s creme foundation but it sells only marginally better than Mac and it turns gray after a while. Just yesterday I got Loreal Paris True Match (It’s 3for2 at Boots on all make-up guys! Go, go go!) and am excited to try that out and see how much better it is.

Concealer?

Nope, not usually. I tend to just use a lighter powder under my eyes to brighten because I don’t really have anything to conceal there. But when I do use concealer (rarely) it’s Rimmel Hide the Blemish.

Do you know your undertone?

Yellooooowwwwww.

Thoughts on fake lashes?

Uhhmmmm, for a really big event then yes. And even then, I’d try to find the darkest, most natural looking lashes I could. I think the silly garish ones with feathers and stuff day or night just look terrible. Unless you’re a drag queen and you want to look fabulous, I just think….no.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every three months?

I knew….. but I usually push it to four. – Naughty.

Which brand of mascara do you use?

Just now I use two. Rimmel Scandal Eyes waterproof for the upper lashes and Boots Naturals for the lower.

Mac or Sephora?

Here in the UK Sephora isn’t easily accessible so because I’ve only ever tried Mac, and they do have some really lush products, I’ll go for them. :)

Do you have a Mac Pro card?

I wish.

Which tools/applicators do you use?

I won’t go through every brush because that’ll just take too long but I love Real Techniques, Sigma, Eco Tools, Natio and a few other no named brands that have some lovely brushes. – Sometimes, the best took is your fingers though so don’t underestimate those!

Do you prime your eyes?

No. – I just dip my brush in a tiny bit of water or spray it with fix plus and my shadow stays on all day.

Pencil or liquid eyeliner?

Liquid for the upper lid and pencil for the water line.

What do you think of pigments?

Great colours. Too messy. Too expensive. Too few places to wear them.

Do you use mineral make-up?

Nope. I feel too bare… That sounds silly. – I’m yet to find a good shade anyway. I once went to the Bare Minerals stand and was told not to bother because none of the colours were right for me. Kinda bummer me out. I was basically waving my money in her face. But at the same time, I’m glad she was honest. – I’m sure I’ll find a nice mineral one day. – Just now, I’m not looking.

Favourite lipstick?

Too many to name! – I love lipstick. Especially matte shades. I feel like my lips are too big to be wearing colours and have them be shiny too. – My two favourites are Kate for Rimmel London in Wine No.107 and another Boots natural in Berry Blush. – I’d also love to try out the new Mac Divine Night lipstick in Private Party. (Doesn’t it just sound a little naughty? I like it ;))

Favourite lipgloss?

Boots naturals Barley Sugar is the sweetest gloss. It has just a little bit of shimmer in it to enhance the color of your own lips and it smells like chocolate! :) – OxfordJasmine uses it here (this is quite an old video) and you can see it’s just the most lovely natural gloss. (Plus, she’s really beautiful.

Favourite blush?

I’ve not really gotten into the blush craze. I try to stay away from things that will enhance my spots so blush and contour are a no no. They just tend to sit on top of my spots, wedge themselves into my craters and look horrid. – On my clear skin days, if I was a blush person, I’d probably use a rose gold tinted type blush. The Elf  baked blush in Rich Rose or the new Divine Night Mac mineralize blush in Talk of the Town  because I’ve seen lots of positive reviews on these two.

Do you buy make-up on Ebay?

No, the likelihood is is that it’ll be fake.

Do you like drugstore make-up?

I live for drugstore make-up! It’s like the foundation of my make-up collection. The high end products are just the icing on the cake really. They aren’t necessary, they’re just nice to have. – I get excited when I buy any new products though. 50p or £50.

Do you go to Cosmetic Company Outlets/Store?

I had to Google what that was lol and deduced that no, I do not go to CCO’s. If I did, I’d spend too much money and there are only a handful in the UK anyway.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?

I did, and then I discovered Youtube and beauty blogs!!! If I were doing other people’s make-up I would definitely take a few classes but when it’s just for me, reading up online and watching videos and then experimenting with application is a lot simpler and more tailored to me. I still need to figure my face out. I don’t feel like a make-up class will do that. It’s a journey I have to take.

Name a make-up crime that you hate.

EYEBROWS. – Stop it! Stop! Square, hideously drawn on eyebrows. What’s even worse is when said person is blonde but they have jet black eyebrows. No hate on blondes, you just see it everywhere and it bugs the life out of me. I want the scouse brow trend o die a very painful death. I can’t wait until natural brows come back around! – Rant over.

Colourful make-up or neutral?

It depends on the occasion. I love bright lipsticks and usually wear one everyday but when I’m with the fella less is more so I try and stick to no eye color or lipstick and just some gold shadow, eyeliner and lip balm on the lips.

Which celebrity always has good make-up?

Ooo, a few. Hate if you wanna but Kim Kardashian and the whole Kardashian clan always look beautiful with their make-up. I also love Salma Hayek’s dark broody looks and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. It helps that every one of these women is already beautiful but whether they’ve got a little or a lot of make-up on, it’s always flawless.

If you could leave the house using just one make-up product, what would you use?

Foundation, and try and make it look as natural as possible.

Could you ever leave the house without having any make-up on?

Are you kidding? I wont even take the rubbish out or get the food out of the car with no make-up on. Pfft! Jokers.

Do you think you look good even without any make-up on?

LOL, we’re getting deep into self-esteem territory now. – No, I look horrendous without make-up. Years of eczema, acne and not enough sunlight have left me with scarring and hyper pigmentation. I don’t want to scare anyone! This is one of the reasons I used to HATE sleepovers.

In your opinion, what is the best make-up line?

The best for what purpose? Looking good in photos? Mac. Everyday? Maybelline/Loreal. Nights out? Anything durable? But in all honesty, I don’t think any one line is the best. I like to mix and match.

What do you think of make-up?

Lifesaver!!
