#31 Going on a Bug Hunt

When I saw Leyla from This Day I Love and Lisa from Hollybobs were looking for 50 Bloggers to take part in the National Trust’s 50 Things to do before you are 11 3/4 I thought it would be a great challenge for Little Mr A and I to set ourselves.  We put ourselves forward and were given number 31 ‘Hunt for Bugs’.

Now when we were set this task little did I know Little Mr A would suddenly become bug phobic!  On a recent visit to the Farm I tried to get him to hunt for some bugs but he would have none of it!  I tried again when we visited the park, but again, he just wouldn’t do it!

I wracked my brain to come up with a way we could still do the bug hunt and not let anyone down.  In the end I decided we would incorporate a craft activity by making our own bugs and then I would place them around the garden for Little Mr A to find.

Luckily he seemed really excited about this so we set to work!  We made lots of bugs and a list to tick them off as he found them.  What do you think?!

Once I’d placed them around the garden Little Mr A had great fun finding them all.  We even came across some real bugs as you can see from our little video…

It just goes to show you can join in even if you are bug phobic like Little Mr A!
