Head Coach Paul Chryst Quote Sheet:
Opening Statement:
"Today was a methodical work day. We have to keep moving forward in these last two practices. On another note, Isaac [Bennett] got his MRI back, and he’s going to need surgery. He’ll be out for part of summer conditioning. That’s disappointing news, but I thought today was a good work day.”
On whether Isaac Bennett will be ready for training camp in August:
"We hope so. He’ll do everything he can with that. With Isaac, you feel good knowing he’ll attack it. [The surgery] needed to be done, so you have to embrace it. He’ll do everything he can to rehab. I’m not betting against him on this one.”
On the aggressiveness of the defensive backs:
"The aggressiveness comes from truly feeling confident and comfortable with what you’re doing and how you’re doing it. Lafayette [Pitts] has had a lot of snaps, and he knows how to play the game. But everyone has stuff they need to continue to work on. Being aggressive fits the style of play of Trenton [Coles] and Titus [Howard]. And Jahmahl [Pardner] is getting back in the swing of things; he fought through the injuries last year, but he’s staying healthy now. At safety, Ray [Vinopal] certainly has a really good command of what’s going on. [Terrish] Webb has had a good spring, and Reggie [Mitchell] is getting more comfortable; that’s allowed them to be more physical. I like the way the group is working.”

On Jahmahl Pardner recovering from his knee injury:
“I think he’s recovered. He had a really good offseason. I think he went into the offseason hoping he was good, and then he was able to confirm that he’s back to being healthy. I don’t think he’s thinking about it anymore, and that’s always a big hurdle to get over for guys that have significant injuries.”
On receivers getting hit hard in practice:
“It’s the fine line about teaching the quarterback not to throw that into a single high safety.”
On Sunday’s Field Pass Event:
“We’re getting some big response numbers wise and hopefully we’ll get some cooperation with the weather. Our players will be on the field with the kids, and inside we’ll be doing the chalk talk part of it. I know our players look forward to the time they get to spend with the kids, and I know our guys will do a good job and hopefully present a little bit of insight to the adults that are part of the chalk talk session. It will be good and there will be a good atmosphere and energy. We’re certainly looking forward to it.”
On the players looking forward to teaching the clinic:
“I think our kids love being around them. It will be fun and the fields will be full. Youth always brings out a good energy, so it will be good for our group.”"
