17 Fast Finish Nail PolishThose who have read my previous posts will know by now that I’m a sucker for gold nail polishes. I like them to look rich but without a tacky yellow hue. I decided to go for the 17 Fast Finish Polish in a shade called ‘Potent’ which looks like it’ll change color slightly as you move your fingers around. It’s a muted goldy bronze color with hints of blue and copper in there when you move your nails. I couldn’t wait to try it on.

The first application of the nail polish was very pale and light. The nail polish is actually quite runny and it didn’t give my nails a very good coverage. I could see my own natural skin color beneath, and the color wasn’t strong at all – except the smell was. Regardless of that, I progressed with a second layer of the nail polish and the result was a lot stronger and more bold. I was pleased, especially as the nail polish dried very quickly and it didn’t go slushy when I did the second layer after about 3 minutes. The second layer dried slightly slower, but it was still dry within 5 minutes which I was pleased with. That’s the kind of result I expect from nail polishes which claim to be quick drying ones, so I was pleased it didn’t disappoint.

17 Fast Finish Nail PolishThe nail polish did dry to be a slightly different color than I would have imagined though. It did look a little different than the polish inside of the bottle, leaving a more orange result that I had expected. I thought the color was still alright though so I continued to wear it, and an hour and a half later I went to make myself some lunch and did the washing up and was horrified to find that my nails were completely chipped! After 2 hours every single nail showed strong signs of chipping and there were patches where the polish had completely come off. My nails didn’t feel smooth at all, but really rough. The polish continued to flake off as I moved, leaving a horrible dusting of bronze shards of polish. I was so unimpressed. I’d possibly expect that kind of chipping after a week of neglect, but after just 2 hours?! And unfortunately top coat doesn’t help particularly much. It doesn’t surprise me that Boots have knocked 99 pence off the price, so now it’s only £2.00. I still think that’s a waste of money!
