Afghan child star Fawad MohammadiThings have not always gone well for 14 year-old Fawad Mohammadi. He has spent time selling maps to foreigners in order to provide for his family. Fortunately, his luck took a turn for the better when he met Sam French, who is an American director. French casted Fawad as one of the main characters in a movie that was shot in Afghanistan called Buzkashi Boys. The movie has received an Academy Award nomination for Best Live Action Short Film. The Academy Awards will take place on February 24, 2013.

Buzkashi Boys is a film about two young kids growing up in Kabul who dream about becoming horseback riders. One of the characters in the film is a street kid, who has a story that is similar to Fawad’s. The other main character in the film is the son of a blacksmith. He spends a lot of time working in his father’s shop.

Fawad is currently getting ready to hit the red carpet on Sunday. When he was asked how he felt about going to the Oscars, he stated that he believed that the trip would be a great privilege for him. He also stated that it is hard for him to believe that he is really going to the Oscars.

He stated that he spent a lot of his time watching Afghan movies, and he has dreamed about becoming an actor but would like to become a pilot one day. Fawad is the youngest of seven children. His father died many years ago, and as a result, Fawad and his five brothers had to work to support the family. They started off by selling gum on the street, but they eventually began selling maps and dictionaries.

During Fawad’s childhood, he spent a lot of time at Chicken Street, which is a popular place that sells craftwork, jewelry and craftwork. That was where he learned how to speak English. The other boy in the film is named Jawanmard Paiz. He is also 14 years-old, and his father is an actor.

Paiz stated that he was shocked by Faward’s acting skills. Both boys are set to arrive in Los Angeles on Wednesday February 20, 2013. A fund-raising campaign has covered the cost of the boys’ trip. The cash that is left over will be used to help Fawad take care of his family. It will also be used to further his education later.

Fawad is not letting the fame affect him. He used the money that he made from the film to attend a private school in his country, so he will not need any immigration attorney right now. He has also stated that he will still sell dictionaries and maps.
