100 Days of Summer

By Tryitonme @tryitonme

100 Days of SummerWhat I'm wearing: Similar lace top, denim shorts (old), Between The Lines Beyoncé tote, initial bar necklace, Sam Endleman sandals (old), MK watch
They say Chicago has 100 days of summer. These days are like precious gems, as we cherish each one. That's why, the hands down, greatest perk of my job is having the summer off. There is no price that you can put on that kind of luxury. Well, that's a lie, there is definitely a price you can put on it, but it's a wonderful thing nonetheless. Yet, come summer my daily behavior is sloth like. I drag my butt out of bed, walk the dog, go for a run (sometimes), maybe take in a little Kathie Lee and Hoda, and then see where the day leads me. In all honesty, a productive summer day is one in which I shower and get dressed. And when I do get dressed, it's always in airy, comfortable pieces, like these faded denim shorts, lacy top, and my favorite embellished sandals.
My favorite days are those spent with friends and family, with no schedule or agenda to follow, simply enjoying these 100 days. That includes quality cuddle time with my pooch, jogging around the neighborhood until my legs are jello, a mid- morning ice cream cone, farmer's market strolls, drinks with friends because it's five o'clock somewhere, or meeting my boo for a weekday dinner al fresco. This is what life is all about.
While my bag reminds me that I have just as many hours in a day as Beyoncé, and I should carpe diem, I'm content with pretending like I have a million more days of summer at my disposal.
