10 Things I Like: Weekend Edition, Volume VI (Summer!!)
It's the first official weekend of summer, and I am going to sail, hike, swim, play golf, and hang with my family and friends up here in mid-coast Maine....which sounds like the perfect way to spend a weekend if you ask me. I hope you all have plans that you're equally excited about, and if not, that perhaps some of these 10 Things inspire you in some way. Next week I'll have some more farmer's market photos, a few sailing posts, and I'm going to go ephemera hunting this weekend as well, so hopefully I'll have some pretty cool stuff to show you. In the meantime, may your Friday afternoon fly by! (10 Things after the jump)
1. This J.Crew Tee

Because look at it. How amazing is it? Great colors, great pattern, great fit...and at $45 not stupidly expensive. Oops, I just bought it.
2. Geary's Summer Ale
10 Things I Like: Weekend Edition, Volume VI (Summer!!)
Geary's has a good thing going with this bottle: not only is it great looking (and I do like the beer that comes in it), but it supports an art student, a cause of which I am always a fan of. Every year, Geary's partners with the Maine College of Art for a scholarship contest. The student who designs the winning label for the company's summer brew gets their work put on the over 1 million bottles that get distributed across the eastern seaboard throughout the season, as well as a $5,000 scholarship. A pretty heady deal, don't you think?
3. Orlebar Brown's Olympic Swim Trunks:
10 Things I Like: Weekend Edition, Volume VI (Summer!!)
Umm how can you not love these? They're swim trunks...with a guy throwing a javelin on them. They showed up in my inbox in the Departures Magazine Newsletter, and I died. Composition wise, the way the guy's hand mirrors the javelin is pretty awesome.
4. This recipe for strawberries and cream biscuits
10 Things I Like: Weekend Edition, Volume VI (Summer!!)
From Smitten Kitchen, only the best food blog ever (and the most famous), these look sooooo goooood. I'm hungry as I write this, and these are making me drool. It is strawberry season...maybe I'll try making these this weekend from my farmer's market haul...
5. This vintage luggage:
10 Things I Like: Weekend Edition, Volume VI (Summer!!)
Considering that the price isn't even listed on the website, I'm guessing these are prett-ay price-ay. But probably worth it. It looks like something from the Darjeeling Limited (sorry to be talking about Wes Anderson so much today) and you know I like that.
6. This photo from Izola's Blog:
10 Things I Like: Weekend Edition, Volume VI (Summer!!)
I wrote about Izola yesterday (and it turns out someone who works there is good friends with a friend of mine...we live in the smallest world). I checked out their blog and fell in love with their "daily inspiration" posts. The photos are awesome, as the one above proves. So sexy, so sweet...
7. Dream Collective Wave Cuff
10 Things I Like: Weekend Edition, Volume VI (Summer!!)
Via Steven Alan, this bracelet totally rocks. It's summery and a bit gritty, just as a cuff should be.
8. This recipe for lemon-lime margaritas
10 Things I Like: Weekend Edition, Volume VI (Summer!!)
Because I love Food52, because it's super easy to make, and because I love margaritas.
9. My Ball and Buck Croakies
10 Things I Like: Weekend Edition, Volume VI (Summer!!)
I went sailing yesterday and almost lost my sunglasses, but I didn't, because of these totally awesome camo croakies. Form meets function, ladies and gentlemen.
10. Road to Shambala by Three Dog Night

This is a weird video, but the song is one of my favorite summer songs. I once burned it on a CD for a sailing trip in high school, and it always brings back those good, salty memories. I heard it yesterday and was reminded of the trip and how much I love the song...
Have a wonderful weekend, dear readers. May the sun shine, the water be warm, and the food be good. Because that's really all that matters, right?
