I had heard a lot of good reviews on Lola’s Café located at Simon Road that is walking distance from the Kovan MRT station. Since both frog and I were on leave on one of the weekdays, we had decided to try out the food and coffee at Lola’s café. We had reached the café at about 11am and surprisingly the café was quite crowded considering it was a weekday morning. Luckily for us, we had managed to get a table inside the café.
Looking through the menu, most of the main dishes are priced below $15 which I thought the prices are quite affordable. Here were what we had ordered for our brunch:
Avocado Egg Benedict $15
Brioche Bread, Avocado, Poached Egg, Hollandaise Sauce, Garden Salad with Balsamic Dressing
Runny poached eggs that goes well with the soft fluffy brioche bread sandwiched with Avocado. A healthy meal to kick starts our day!
Lola’s Full Monty Breakfast $15
Brioche Bread, Pork Sausages, Honey Bacon Hams, Scrambled Eggs, Garden Salad with Balsamic Dressing.
The brioche bread is soft and puffy in texture. How I wish the bread for the full Monty breakfast can be bigger in portion. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and not too milky. For personal preference, I am not really a fan of scrambled eggs that are too strong in milky taste as it will be too ‘gilat’ after having few mouthful of it. Oh before I forget, the bacon is a must try as I love the sweet lingering taste of the bacon. It is quite different from what other cafes are serving. The pork sausage is delicious too.
Ice Mocha $6.00 ; Mocha $5.50
