In China, everyone loves to eat. But not everyone loves to cook—although, sometimes it’s a necessity; so be prepared to help around the kitchen and show others what a good cook you really are!

Dialogue: Two friends are getting ready to prepare a meal:

A- 杨洋,帮我把盐拿过来。Yángyáng, bāng wǒ bǎ yào ná guòlái.

Yang Yang, can you please pass me the salt?

B- 哦,还要什么?Ó, hái yào shénme?

Okay, what else?

A- 把菜洗了吧。Bǎ cài xǐle ba.

Wash the vegetables

B- 行……洗完了。还干什么?Xíng……xǐ wánliǎo. Hái gànshénme?

Okay, finished. What else?

A- 你把牛肉切了。Nǐ bǎ niúròu qièle.

Please cut the beef

B- 好!Hǎo!

Okay

A- 哎呦,他们来啦!Āi yōu, tāmen lái la!

Oh, they are here

B- 来来,欢迎欢迎!Lái lái, huānyíng huānyíng!
