Just in case anyone else has also been hearing this recent buzzword — “twee” — ad nauseam, and also is unsure of its meaning, here you go (from various online dictionaries):

)

adj.Chiefly British

Overly precious or nice.
[Alteration of tweet, baby-talk alteration of sweet.]

twee

to be obnoxiously sweet, or quaint. It comes across as being disingenuous, corny, or effeminate. This guy was walking his poodle down the street. he had this sickly twee voice when he talked to his dog. he was like; “who’s my little poo poo, yes, your my little poo poo. your my little birthday boy, yes you are.”

twee

chiefly British

: affectedly or excessively dainty, delicate, cute, or quaint<such a theme might sound twee or corny — Times Literary Supplement>

Yeah, it pretty much sounds like what it means, and I’m somewhat embarrassed I had to look it up after hearing it in context, being an English word and all.  Still, it’s a silly little British term, and I don’t get over there often.

So sorry to be such a twoo. Yeah, I made that up, and it is the first LegosnEggos-submitted term on UrbanDictionary.com.  Let’s see that it sticks so the British get a taste of their own medicine.  If you go overseas, use it and often!
