Weekend Treats! (Haul)

By Lotionsandpotions @LotionNPotion
Whilst wandering through town yesterday, I popped into Superdrug to have a little look-see and came out with a few new purchases:

From Left: MUA Undressed palette, MUA BB Cream in Light Rose, Maybelline Illegal Length mascara, Fashionista  Maxi Volume mascara, Maybelline 24 HR Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe, Fashionista Custom Palette (eyeshadows listed below), MUA blusher in Shade 2, MUA pressed powder in Shade 1

I absolutely love MUA products - they are so affordable and the best thing is that they actually work. Quite a few cheap make up products have really limited pigmentation and staying power, but MUA is a brand I've been seriously impressed with and I always try to check out the stand in my local Superdrug to see if anything new has come out.
I'm really late to the party with the Undressed palette, but I've wanted it for ages now so when I saw that they had it in stock (finally) it went straight into my basket. I also picked up their BB cream as I've been unable to find one that's light enough for my skin (even The Body Shop's lightest one was far too dark, which was really disappointing as they have the lovely pale-skinned Lily Cole as the face of the brand). However, MUA appear to be the only make up brand that have bought one out this light - it matches!! I have yet to see whether it has staying power and lives up to the promise of other BB creams, but I'm confident it will be enough for my needs. Besides, the buzz now is all about the new CC creams about to hit our shores!
My final 2 MUA products were a blusher and some pressed powder. Pressed powder is a simple must have and, although my favorite is Laura Mercier, I can't afford to buy that every time I need some powder. Rimmel Stay Matte powder is also a favourite, but I thought I'd give this one a try - £1, why not?The blusher was an impulse purchase as I noticed that the color was really similar to my beloved NARS Deep Throat:

A NARS dupe for £1 would be a truly awesome discovery and so far so good!
I also picked up 2 Maybelline products - Illegal Length mascara and a 24hr Colour Stay cream eyeshadow in Permanent Taupe. This mascara claims to coat lashes with fibres in order to make them appear longer and I have to say, after applying a couple of coats over the mascara I was already wearing, the difference was noticeable - even my boyfriend noticed a difference, which is really saying something as there has to something drastically different for him to notice!
I haven't had a chance to try the eyeshadow out yet, except on my wrist, but I've heard good things about these and I really like the neutral, subtle shade. It stayed on my wrist for hours and hours yesterday too, so I have high hopes for this one!
I've left the products I'm most excited about until last - the Fashionista Custom Palette. I'd never heard of Fashionista before, but I'm going to be keeping an eye out in future.
The idea behind the custom palette is simple: You buy an empty palette and then fill it with your chosen products - blusher, eyeshadow etc. I got mine alongside a deal which meant I also got a free mascara (this deal is on until 25th September 2012).

So, you pick your shades and then pop them out of their individual boxes and slot them into the palette instead. I was quite nervous about taking them out and putting them into the palette as you need to be a little vigorous and I was worried they would break. However, once they're in there's no worry about them falling out.
I absolutely love this idea and I know that some other companies have similar palettes, but are any of them as pretty as these?

Beautiful! I almost don't want to use them, just take them out every now and again and look at how pretty they are!
They have loads of different shades, so I might have to get some more so that I can swap them around.
