Wake On The Big Screen

By Theomnipotentq @TheMightyQuinn
A couple of months ago, I read Tim Wakefield's book, "Knuckleball," and it was an enjoyable read about the great Timmeh's journey from a minor league first baseman who didn't have much of a bat to a World Series champion knuckleball pitcher. (I read just before he announced his retirement.)
Well it turns out that Wake's final year in the bigs will be coming onto the big screen, as filmmakers Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg followed him around in 2011, as well as the Mets' knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (who will be the only knuckleball pitcher in MLB in 2012).
"Knuckleball" will make its debut at the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival in New York City on April 28th. I'll do my best to be in the audience that night.
My friend Red at Surviving Grady has an interview about the movie with the filmmakers. My thanks to him for bringing "Knuckleball" to my attention.
