Video – Agility Rings for Baseball

By Meachrm @BaseballBTYard

I’ve always said that if you want to become a better baseball player then you have to focus on improving your footwork.  It doesn’t matter what part of the game you are talking about – hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, etc. – if your feet are not in the right place at the right time, your days in the game are numbered.

That’s why I love agility rings.

Agility rings are used by trainers to work on improving footwork across the athletic spectrum.  This year, my son’s coach introduced them to me.   Throughout the season we used them to help the players warm up before practices and also during drill work to make sure they knew where their feet went on each play.

Here are a few drills we did using the rings involving the options of gathering momentum before the throw.  There are dozens of other ways they can be used so do some research and use your imagination.
