Touch Mudder Chulmenely Castle North West Review 2024

First thing – it was harder than I expected. Well, specifically, just bloody freezing.

Everywhere was flooded due to the storms and bad weather over the last month.

We began our day helping push a BMW out of the (grass/mud) car park.

The course was full of massive puddles up to your knees and waist. And the obstacles were fun but I was freezing after the 4th one.

The water also stank of cow poo and in some instances was up to my chin, fun fun.

Health and safety was surprisingly, well, kinda bad. No wonder they about sign a waiver.

I recall pulling myself up over a wall and flipping over the top, for some reason I expected a crash mat or something on the other side, but it was a 10ft drop onto grass. Luckily I held on, although it was a struggle as my hands were so cold.

The cargo net had no safety nets or mats, so if you fell, you die. There was another rotating rectangular thing in the water, and one of the wardens kept screaming there was too many people on it, but it was impossible to get off and there should have been some kind of queuing system if it was an issue.

The only other thing that stood out from the day, were the hyper-aggrssive Scottish cjnts by the bag drop. Which apparently was majorly secure but we just wondered to pick up any bag we pleased upon our return after we had finished.

All in all, good fun, most of the staff were great besides 1 troll, health ans safety not 100% IMO.

Would wear gloves next time and do some more cold water exposure stuff beforehand to get used to the cold.
